This doesn't sound good. Gale and DiRenzo closed. The forum member who owns Gale hasn't posted for several years. "fifthg"

Gale does have an office in Pottsville. 570-622-2524. This number is from a business directory on the web and may not be current.

There were some reports late last year that all coal production in the US for 2022 was already sold out. No specifics, but maybe referring mostly to power plant bit/sub-bit?

The gentleman that took over Gale mining recently and unfortunately passed away. Raw coal is tight and as a result not available to some of the smaller producers. More than likely that is what happened with DiRenzo. I can't speak for Lehigh but as far as Blaschak goes, I don't believe that we have ever shipped any anthracite to China. The majority of our production goes to home heating, which is what built Blaschak. The remainder of our coal which is mainly fines, goes to water filtration, steel and sugar beet processing. We are thankful and blessed to have such great support in the home heating industry.

Thank you for the update and info Andrew. Sorry to hear of the recent owners passing. So, Job had sold the operation?

Good to hear that Blaschak is still holding home heat users as important.

I'm willing to bet a lot more than in 2020.
