I hear you. Given the current political climate there are likely a fair number of people that "forgot" they burned coal when filling out the last census. I know at least one.freetown fred wrote: ↑Thu. Jan. 27, 2022 9:57 amGood post Rob--BUT--Gov. data huh???????????????? I'm lovin it!!

The last time that the census listed coal as a home heating possible answer was on the long form 2000 census. That was the only time I ever received the long form and I checked off "coal". In 2000 0.1 % of US homes heated with coal. Pa. was 1.4% then. The largest user base by far. WVa. at 1.1%. I don't doubt recent estimates you see but have no idea where they're getting their data from. Maybe guestimating from coal production figures? Then producers would have to report what amount went for home use vs. all the other uses.

Three.
And going by how the number of coal dealers grew around here, I say it's safe to assume there are a lot more coal burners than the gov info shows. 16 years ago there was two dealers covering this area and they were both about 20 miles away. Now there are four more and they are all within 10 miles or less. And they are all doing well.
Thats a lot of somebodies burning all that coal those six dealers are selling around here.

As Written In A Rather Private Book..:
"Dear Diarrhea,Day 4,322... Today was more of the same. Another set of Drone's came over equipped with FLIR looking for a Heat Signature that's higher than the normal one when Natural Gas,Propane and Buffalo Dung is being used in a Central Heating System. So far,So Good regarding my finely tuned Anthracite Burning Low Flue Outlet Temps! They came and hauled away my Neighbor two doors to the North of us. He was cautioned about running his Wood Burning Stove unevenly, with spiking Flue Temps.. Poor Bastard..... I've been Binge Watching all of the Star Trek Series to stay calm and present a Hip,Chill and Supple Compliance Appearance when out in Da' Yard,or among the General Public... Am starting to get disturbed that no one ever has to use "The Can" on any of those great shows... Sounds like "Klingon Support" to me!.... Until next time,as I've got to go feed The Squirrels...

Heard rumors this was a widespread reaction because only Citizens were supposed to be counted for voting powers. Can't say I was surprised or sad to hear it
