My dealer has closed shop here in northern ny I’m 3 hours north of Syracuse. And cannot seem to find anywhere that sells rice coal now besides tractor supply for $7 a bag.
Does anyone know of any coal dealers anywhere in the area?

Tractor supply has a $15/ton discount going on now. And it's best if you have a 10% off coupon too. I have asked at a couple local hardware/supply stores owned by young entrepreneur if he has ever thought about selling coal, he's got everything else.

Hmmm….don’t know where “3hours away” is. Can you update your profile with a location?
Thanks

Upstate Heating & Plumbing in Malone sells coal stoves, they could maybe point you to a local coal dealer. (518) 483-6590

Massena....I did a lot of work up there at the power dam years ago. Nice area. And cheap electricity!

Anyway, if you are looking for coal and price is not an issue by all means look about locally. I try to get the most bang for my buck and the folks near Forestport are my go-to source even though it’s a bit over 2 hours away. I take my flatbed trailer and bring home three tons in my 4x4x8 box, $220/ton. And it’s a real nice ride too if ya stay off the Thruway.

Is that bulk, 1 ton bags or 40 lb. bags?

I think Alcoa has some of the lowest electric rates in the US. I am headed to Massena this Friday to camp for a week.

Soccer 918...
If I recall properly, a special rate structure was developed for Massena as the town was directly impacted by the dam and its construction. Very interesting story told within the visitor center atop the dam. Be sure to stop by if in the area.
