So as the world spins faster and faster out of control. Is there a way to project pricing for the upcoming heating season.
I would assume at the very least trucking will go up. ???

- Coal Size/Type: pea/nut/rice/stove-anthracite, nut/stove bit when I feel the urge
- Other Heating: oil fired hydronic
So what are the "guarantee'ds"? Higher fuel prices in general, more Government regulation, vilification in the press... I don't have a good record of prognostication...

I haven't seen any summer pricing ads yet, thought I had by this time last year.

Got a postcard from my guy this week... Bulk Lehigh is $190 per ton delivered through August 20th... That's $5 more than last year.

With inflation coming back I don't think you have to be a brain surgeon to predict coal prices going up because the cost of production is probably going up, thanks big guy.

Doing the math, trucking was $800 more for a 20 ton load 1000 miles (give or take 50 miles) to my location than it was 2 years ago. Lack of drivers is part of that increase. Your results may vary. But I figure other fuel sources will also go up so its a wash.

Got a load from Lehigh last week
We were up 10$ a ton and a 22% fuel surcharge for trucking.
Also trucking was a day late.

$170 per ton at the local breaker a few days ago. That's what it has been for a few years. Boss at the breaker was complaining of rising costs and being unable to hire help. He didn't hint of a price increase but I think it is inevitable that it will go up soon, just my opinion.

The way things have been going I'd say you did well. Now you are locked in for a few years.Canaan coal man wrote: ↑Mon. Oct. 25, 2021 12:10 pmGot a load from Lehigh last week

$260.00 per ton & $60.00 delivery--was $40.00--my supplier thought he could stay with last yrs. $240.00 per but I guess not. My total comes to $800.00 or so for the season. Not to shabby when I was payin $1400 per month with my oil furnace 25-30 yrs. ago & bustin my balls doin wood as back up.

I got my 3 tons of bagged Lehigh about a month ago from a local guy. $280 a ton and $40 delivery charge so about $900 for my years supply. For a 71 yr old I'll pay the price. A lot better then dropping trees in the woods, dragging the logs out with the tractor, cutting, splitting, and stacking. That was a young mans sport.
