Hard to say. I’ve been buying it for a few weeks now and it seems alright. I think TSC coal can vary pallet to pallet though.

Last year I had some real crap from them. I fought through 20 bags and ended up driving quite a bit further to get some from the Amish.

agree....it's a crapshoot with TS coal. I've been burning some that I bought last year that has a lot of fines but these sales can make up the difference. Keep an eye out on FB and CL too. I picked up 28 x 50lb bags of Kimmel on CL last week for a $100.

I was surprised its the same price here and has that sale. Unsure yet if I'll get any but its worth that price for my location.

After reading this post, I picked up 2 extra tons. Earlier this I paid just under 6 dollars a bag on sale. Thank for the tip.

There was a shipping placard inside of the shrink-wrap on the pallet which shows that it was shipped from Kimmel to Tractor supply. Placard is printed "Kimmel's 40# TSC Premium Nut Coal 18.25X29 TP#13779 2,300/CS"

I read all the post about which coal is the best, but here in Alabama, Tractor Supply is all we have available for anthracite, and I appreciate their carrying it. Most of Tractor's coal customers in this area are blacksmiths, but I'm trying to get more folks onboard with the idea of switching out their wood burners and burning coal. Even though I can cut all the wood I need for free, it sure is nice not having to get up several times during the night to throw another log on the fire in order to keep it going.

I think Kimmels is out of business now??? I loved burning the single ton of Kimmels I bought thru TSC and wish I had a train load of it but I like my Blaschak too as it is so consistent with their blending. . Theres likely some of the Kimmel pallets still around. Unless TSC has changed their source lately its likely from Reading. Its mostly blacksmiths buying it at TSC here too Gunny, or so they told me. But I have other local sources too who sell for home heat.
