Nut did you pick up at Blaschak? Hope your dealer didn’t give you the bait and switch gimmick. Blaschak always seems to get good to high reviews.

No, I got it delivered. He had 3 to choose from: Reading, Blaschak and Alantic. I chose Blaschak. Hope that's what was delivered. Local guy so I trusted him.

I’m burning coal from Atlantic Carbon now if Penn Keystone is not fibbing to me it’s shiny and burning excellent. I did pick up two tons of bulk Reading and it looks just like you described. It burned pretty good in the Hitzer for me I’d grade it a B.

Thanks for your input Toddburn. Maybe I got Reading. It was $40 a ton cheaper than Blaschak. $239 vs $199 per ton.

Thanks for the information. I did not know that about TSC bagged coal. I have been burning coal since 1985 but I never knew where my coal came from. I only have had 2 coal guys the whole time and both lived down around the operating mines(about 2 hours away) and both brought good quality coal for all those years. Never mentioned any of the big names. Now I have a third guy who lives near me and it is my first year with him. Now I am hesitant to order Blaschak from him again. Might try the Reading next year and save $40 a ton.

That much price difference I'd also probably get the Reading if it burns close to as good. Its always possible you got Blaschak that was a little dirty too. You just never know for sure.
