This morning I drove out to Wrisley Brothers near Boonville, NY. Brought home two tons of Lehigh nut in supersacks. I’ll put it in the gravity wagon in the morning. Paid $235/ton in the sacks.

Two young guys loaded me, seems like they are part of an extended family business selling hay and beef. Very friendly, efficient and helpful people. Some of the hay they cut is delivered to NEPA, then back haul coal in supersacks or 40# bags on pallets for the return trip. They do sell bulk but need to have combined orders for half of a 24 ton load before the semi dump goes down to the mine. They started the coal business three years ago, Russ says its doing very well and growing. They have rice, pea and nut. Maybe stove too.
“Dirt Cheap Heat” is the name of their side business.
I’ll be heading back sometime soon for 3 tons bulk nut when they get enough orders for a trip.
