We had coal delivered from Superior in August. $200/ton delivered, but at 74 I can no longer take the P/U truck 13 miles, and then shovel it into the skid loader bucket and then into the coal shed. The guy who delivers said to always order early, as later in the season the coal might not be as good. Last year, the coal seemed to be low density and a bit boney. I'd half fill the ten gallon ash bucket on the porch every two days. Got to lift it and dump into a plastic bag. This year, it is definitely red ash, whatever that means. But seems to be very high density, bright and shiny and no bits of slate. Just fine red ash and I think it will be four days before I have to empty the ash bucket.

Just a few comments.

Bill
