Should I expect the price of anthracite to be lower, about the same, or higher than it was at this time last year?

Last year at this time it was ten dollars a ton cheaper than it is now. I haven't heard of any more price increases at this time.

Just ordered 7 tons of Lehigh... $190/ton, $5 higher than last year. Might not see a big summer discount with fuel prices higher this year.

i just got 6.13 tons of Blaschak at 198 . per ton delivered. How does my coal delivery man make his money. I am around 30 miles from the mines or more , Does he get a volume discount as a dealer? If so how much ? I want him to have a sustainable, viable income, and want to make a assessment of that .

here's another view. call mat at the bulk plant at Lehigh and see what you can do on a TT load now and if not the dollar range you're looking for, when he's going to be able to make it sweeter.

he will be able to give you the actual coal pricing very fairly, the trucking is out of their hands, but there are favored haulers known on this forum.

I paid $130. per for 23 ton of the best nut ever and then trucking to get it to Indiana. $3000 for 23 tons of coal was a dang good deal in my book. I had been paying $235. for local bulk 3 to 7 tons at a time and having to move it myself. even after adding trucking, at that price though I didn't think I had space for it I made a way.

you can store 23 tons easily in 920 c.f.

.02 worth

So, in the NE we are maxed out on NG supplies due to pipeline issues. Some parts of Westchester NY are refusing NG connection requests. Oil could be $250 or $40 depending on the ME issues as well. Here we have a chit load of usable energy for little money. Anthracite is where it is at. I need to open up my coal bin roof and get the Cat 955 moving. A TT load is called for again. Get it straight from the breaker or get killed with fines at least that is my experience. Can anybody give me read on Harman DVCs on buck or a even a Pocono. I suspect my Anthraking 180 runs way better on buck but I do not want to inventory another size.

who are you using? countryside?

i used to get my own coal when i lived near the breakers. cost me about 6 bucks in fuel round trip to go from mt carmel to newtown (i liked that coal the best) now that i live in berks county it would be a little scary driving 60 plus miles with 1700 pounds of coal in my toyota pickup. then i would have to shovel it into the basement window. the f-250 gets lile 5 mpg loaded. i'm glad there are still people that deliver coal or i would have not switched back to coal when i moved.

I just called my local supplier who sells Lehigh. Last year I got it for 204/ton for a 6 ton quantity picked up at their yard. This year it's 210. Not bad. I could save a couple hundred bucks going directly to Lehigh but by the time I factor in driving to the Lehigh site twice and the wear and tear on the truck, trailer and driver I'm just going to get it locally. I'm just grateful I can get Lehigh locally.
