FYI - For those of you on Long Island, you know our supplier choices are limited. The Medford Tractor Supply is now open and carries bagged rice and nut.   Picked some up to test, and it burns fine, looks like red ash, easy to start. First time using bagged, so going easy for now. I have a pallet outside the back door and move a few bags onto a shoe tray close to the stove as needed. ( figure it will need to thaw) Inquired about a bulk discount, was told not during season. $6.29 a 40lb bag - which is close to the price I pay bulk rice from the guy up the street....

We use Rella too. Would bagged coal be more work?

Bagged coal is actually a bit easier in my opinion, but more expensive than bulk.
