kind of leaves us in a pickle our local coal dealer is hanging it up after 98 years (yes ninety eight )
the nearest other source is over a hour away leaving us a month of cold left and no economical way to get more fuel

I don't know what we are gonna do next season might be time to give up on coal

Are you looking for bagged or bulk? Genesse Feeds in Batavia is listed as a dealer of Lehigh Anthracite. Give them a call at 585-344-323

Also, the Yellowpages lists a few different dealers within an hour of you.

FF, have you thought of moving up to the ICE for transportation. Some of these new fangled car things can be faster than a galloping horse. Or simply send a carrier pigeon for an Uber ride.

My coal numbers are coming into focus for this winter. I am no isayre but a rough estimate is $8,000 saved ... not so shabby.

ff easy for you to say, we don't have a dump trailer or a truck big enough to pull one
the other closer dealers we have used in the past have frankly crap coal or is way expensive the dealer a hour and a half away wants 100 dollar more then what we where paying a ton , and thats picked up

we need on avg 15 or 20 ton a season
so at 2000-3000 lbs thats 15 trips back and forth if we bought it during the summer, would I wanna subject the truck to that No,and try it during the winter .... No

and has far as I know genfeeds does not carry rice coal they carry nut for landscaping

At 20 tons per season you should figure out how to take deliver of a 24 ton load straight from the breaker.

Theres a member here from South Dakota that arranged a delivery a couple years ago from Ohio (I think) of soft coal, and one from Central Minnesota that has semi-loads of coal delivered from Reading, bagged, I dont remember how often. It can be done. its just a matter of finding someone to deliver the coal you want. At some point it is likely what I'll do too.

Just call the breaker, they will give you a quote for a load delivered. Through last TT load I got was $950 trucking, for a 400 mile haul.

and specify from the breaker. Less fines and that is important.

Quality Lawn Care (the coal shop) even delivers to the entire area that Raystation covered, and they are pretty inexpensive.

We'd be happy to help anyone looking for a new supplier.

Multiple trucks with conveyors and augers. Bulk & Bagged Lehigh Anthracite (Reading also available).

We deliver to: Ontario, Livingston, Monroe, Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming, Allegany, Steuben, Yates, Seneca, Wayne, Niagara, and Erie (East of Rt 219) counties! Open 6 days a week Tuesday-Sunday from mid October thru Mid April.

Tons of coal, stoves/furnaces/boilers, and parts in stock!

There's alot of negative rumors being spread about us by certain dealers, but I have yet to hear one that is true. We've gotten stuck with some "iffy" coal over the years, but Lehigh has been doing an awesome job keeping up with our growth. Best burning, highest BTU, and lowest ash coal we've ever sold.
