Just talked with my coal supplier and he has lifted his 2 ton limit and put it up to a 4 ton limit but instead of the $185 a ton price he had in July with the 2 ton limit his price is now $225 a ton. This is a real bummer! Last Oct. I paid $175 a ton.

That was me who didn't like Brockton Ice's coal. It is Reading Coal delivered in flimsy clear bags. It's junk in my Harman TLC2000

I just picked up a skid (60-40# bags) of Blashak rice at Horner Trucking in Mesopotamia, Ohio for $320. That's up from $300 in June. He's doing his best to hold prices down and have coal on hand. After reading comments about the difficulties with getting rice coal in some areas, I feel fortunate to be able to get it.

I just picked up my 4th ton of rice from Summit Anthracite Inc this morning 8/9/08. 160.00 a ton.

This load went to the scales at 2460 lbs and I am parked on a grade to let it drain a bit before putting it in the bin.

I guess I got lucky this year. My price has been unchanged for the last 4 years: $267.60/ton, bagged Kimmels nut coal, or $6.69/50lb bag.

Just picked up 5 tons last weekend, $1338. Much better than the $4K+ to heat with oil & freeze.

I actually made 2 trips & didn't triple the GVWR of my trailer this year! toothy Did two 2500# pallets per trip -- one in truck, one in trailer. Was a pain in the ass though, 'cause I had to unload it all, then go pick up the other half of the load, then load into basement. The wife is getting stronger -- we did 50 more bags this year & she wasn't even sore. :flex:

Same drill as always: We get all the bags near the small 1 foot x 20" window. She hands me the bags thru the window (outside in the rain  ) & I stack them in 14-bag-high stacks (14 bags is as high as the ceiling down there)

Set for the season & that's a good feeling.Have 200 bags neatly stacked in my soaking wet basement, waiting for the Mark III to make the trip down the stairs.

Just bought two skids from a Amish dealer about 5 miles from me for $315.00 a skid, up from last year but close for me & less than I could find anyplace else in northwest Pa. or northeast Ohio.

Forgot to say that was for Blaschak bags & the dealer offered me the green plastic from the pallets saying that it was supposed to help keep out ultra-violet rays to protect the bags some. At least they are paying attention to some of the problems that outdoor storage creates.
