Not exactly sure which mine it might have come from. All the bags say "premium deep mined anthracite coal" in 50lb bags
Centralia Coal Sales Wilkes Barre PA. I got them from a local guy who is actually right on a railroad spur and he gets his coal and pellets by box car. He says he has tried a lot of coal and liked this coal the best and so now he sells it in bagged tons. He likes the deep mined coal and says he will continue to sell it as long as he can get his hands on it. I would like to try other coals to see the differences but if I will not be able to get them in bags, it would not help me much. If anyone from CT knows of any other coal in bags besides Centralia and Blashak, let me know so I can give it a shot. I burn nut size

Mt Carmel PA prices are $110.00 to 120.00 at Black Diamond Mine for strip mined anthracite, and $145.00 for deep mined anthracite at Harmony Mines (AKA: UAE Mines) which is closed until the 5th of Jan. Of course that is 2008 prices, they may opt to raise it a couple bucks for the new year. Both are good burning hard coal with low ash content.

jpd986, No, I picked up the coal myself. I have a Mazda B-4000 so I make two trips 30 bags at a time but they load the truck for me I just have to unload. I don't know if they will deliver.

A buddy just called the supplier today and Blashak anthrecite is going for $320 a ton up here bagged. Thats up $10 a ton since October. The thing that realy puzzels me is when I paid 310 a ton deisel was almost $5 dollars a gal and anow its half that. My supplier must have bought all of his coal when deisel was at its highest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think he needs to be intrioduced to the (JIT) "J"ust "I"n "T"ime methodology of supply and demeand to keep his prices down. I don't think that he will listen though.

Blashak (60) 40# bags = 2400lbs @ $370 (15.50 lb)

Reading (40) 50# bags = 2000lbs @ $295 (14.80 lb)

Checked the price today for Blaschak at our local Aubuchon Hardware store. Nut coal is currently $415.00 for a pallet of 2400 pounds. That is $345.83 a ton or $6.92 a 40 pound bag. Seems a bit pricey even for northern New Hampshire. My SF 260 is using about 2.5 bags a day, so I would be paying $17.30 a day for coal. Thinking about using the oil furnace for the rest of the season when I run out of coal? NEVER!

The truck came today with 6006lbs. on. $275 a ton delivered. They didn't charge me for the extra 6. lol! Good looking coal too. the last was a different color, graphite grey and didn't seem to have the heat like the first batch. Got it from Swantak's just outside Oneonta NY.

Do you have the name of the place in Hazleton? With prices the way they are now, it would be worth it for me to take a trailer down.

Thanks
