looking to have 4-5 tons of rice coal delivered to 19508.
i only found two dealers. both the same price.
i'm about 50 miles from the coal veins.

what should i expect to pay delivered? i never had a delivery, always picked up at the breaker when i lived in schuylkill county. i'm asking because the delivered price i got seems high.

Even tho i only live 1/2 mile from a coal yard,i had been paying $235/ton delivered on loads up to 7 ton.

I'm in Berks but didn't get bulk this year, at least not yet. I used Mud's lawn service and coal delivery, Port Clinton, 570-773-0386, for a couple of years. Just barely in Schuylkill county, north of Hamburg. Great service.
He charged about $50 a ton over the retail breaker price, which was great. $210 a ton delivered, last year. As I recall, he liked to go to Blaschak, although he went to DiRenzo's for me. I haven't spoken to him since last year, so not sure of current pricing or if he's still hauling coal. Birdsboro area may or may not be too far for him. For a 4 or 5 ton load, he just might?

I got a bulk delivery one year from Livin' Green landscape in Bechtelsville, a bit north of Boyertown on rt. 100. That was 2 or 3 years a go. I paid $265/ton delivered, since I was over 20 miles from them. At that time they handled Lehigh. You would be much closer.

The bulk coal haulers or yards I have used in Berks county for many years prior to 2001 have all quit coal. Mostly that was Emil Rarick, from Ravine and Hamburg. I had heard, years ago, that they were only doing fuel oil. I know that at least one or two of the FM Brown feed mills used to deliver bulk, but no idea if they still do so. They're out there, but not so many anymore. Over priced bagged everywhere. Good luck!

thanks! i'll give him a call.
livin green and browns are the only two i found. both 245 a ton delivered.
i'm not even sure how much i need this winter lol. no plans on removing the oil furnace.
this was a huge huge step for mom letting me install a coal appliance (we had a bad experience with sulphur dioxide when i was a baby) once i explained to her that the stove is brand new and i bought carbon monoxide detectors it's ok.
i am used to heating a giant uninsulated garage (4000 sq foot). the house is about 1500 sq ft with decent insulation (2250 if you include the unfinished basement.....a few years ago you needed a boat to get around down there. the water table dropped since the sewage was installed thank goodness. i have been readying the basement for a coal bin and coal stove, i have almost two dry walls so far.
i can haul with my pickups, but they aren't exactly new, when i lived a few miles from the breaker it was ok to be very overloaded. now i have either route 61 or 183 to deal with to get here.

That is a good price. Countryside has been giving lots of folks good prices on fuels over the yrs, good to see that they are doing the same with coal.

Great deal. Is this the Countryside oil dealer in Myerstown, Lebanon county? Or another place?

Thanks for the clarification. After posting,i did think it was possible that it was a separate business. I think i heard some time back that 1 brother had 1 business, another brother had another. Not sure how many brothers there are. There are now a few businesses with Countryside as first name... 1- Fuel ,2- Propane, 3- Coal

At least you have found someone to deliver coal to you for a fair price & now that info is on here for others who may need the same.
