TSC 2017-2018

Paisan: I have recently bought both Reading branded bags as well as TSC branded nut. If its not the same stuff then its similar (inferior) quality. Several reports here indicate that it is indeed the same source. Haven't enjoyed burning it.

The stuff does burn, and so does all the foreign material such as the wooden chunks, and the 1/2 a bag of fines.

the "premium nut" and the Reading that I'm burning this winter is kinda junkie. BUT, it's all I got within 15 miles. I'm great full for that, few years ago I had to drive a lot further to get coal. I'm actually surprised that anthracite is even sold near me. I know of no one around here that burns coal. Come to think of it I dont even know anyone personally that burns anthracite. At lest the crappy coal comes in easy to handle bags

I guess we could burn it bag and all and at least we'd get some heat from the bags

(I am not recommending that!) I'd still buy it if it was cheap enough or all I could get. 15% off sale is what Im speaking of.

the TSC coal I have gotten this year is better than the Reading coal. It is also a red ash coal, unlike the Reading. I just wish I knew where they are getting it from.

I guess I spoke to soon about the quality. The coal I got in October is great. The coal I got last week is poorly sized and has lots of fines.

I'm moving to WA state for work. How risky is it to install a boiler at my new house with TSC being the only potential supplier? I do see some stores in WA carry bagged. I really don't want to do wood or pellets after 8 years of coal.

TSC coal is better than nothing. maybe the provider out there will have better quality than this region. Also, there maybe other providers or vendors you're not aware of...yet.

Im betting as soon as those stores sell out that will be the end of them having it. it is probably coal they got when TSC sent coal to about every store in the northern half of the country and it hasnt sold yet. I wouldnt count on them long term.

Well had a coupon for 15% off plus the 5% they give you for buying a pallet of coal. Bought it late last night when it was dark, had it loaded onto my pickup. I leave in the morning at 5 so its dark, got home today to unload the truck, the top of the tailgate on the left side is flatten down and I just put a new tailgate on the truck the end of November and didn't paint it yet. The bags of coal are soaking wet, they just got it in they told me. The only pallet they received. Pallet was shipped from RMS in Wilkesboro, NC. and loose coal through out the pallet. They had 2 1/2 pallets of coal this year come in and that is exactly the amount of rice coal I bought there this year. They are 4 miles from me, the other place I buy coal from is 15 miles from me. I know I won't be buying from TSC again.

They are simply a "middle man". That coal is the Reading Coal in the TSC Brand Bags referenced everywhere in this thread.
