fifthg, I have been enjoying the results from burning Gale nut coal. I had been using Reading last yr & liked it,still have some left & have been using it too. The Gale lites quicker which makes quicker recovery when refilling. I generally shake,poke/slice,refill & walk away rather than fill with multiple layers. I also like the shade of blue flames Gale coal has... a much prettier blue than the Reading & Gale has a constant blue flame for the 24 hr period... at least with my stove.

Absolutely worth the drive. The folks at Gale where helpful and have nice product. Your getting it straight out of the breaker. I'll be going back. You could probably get Gale delivered cheaper than pick up at lutz. Lutz's were close to double picked up. I'd was afraid to ask what they wanted delivered.

Hi there,
If you are in the Philadelphia area and do not want to travel up north try Hendrick's coal in Blooming Glen (near Perkasie). Their coal is from Lehigh and is really good. Lots of edges not round and smooth so it burns well and catches the heat. They are also open Saturday morning. I go there with a Ford Ranger, they drop 1000 pounds in and I pay $125.00
