TSC Coal 2016/2017

I hauled 10 permitted steel coil loads in Ohio, from Middletown to Cleveland. And one from Phila to Lousville. They wouldn't permit that one through Pa., I had to go through Md. That wasn't fun at all. Md. is a freakin pain.

No...just saying the TSC coal is as good and actually I really believe better then Blazchak coal being I have burnt both.

Well men, the test is on. For the most part, this winter has been LA stove coal, with some TSC (Reading) nut used as a "reducer". For the past month, it's been almost all LA stove size. My stock has just ran out, but I have plenty of TSC nut coal to last the rest of the season. So it'll be interesting to see how the G111 takes to it. This weekend is suppose to be in the 50s, so we'll see how it performs in the temp swings, from highs to lows.

I went to my local TSC to get some nut. Only 2 bags in stock. This is the second time this season they have run out. Kind of a PIA.

Just scored 2 tons at TSC. Rice 254.58 per ton w 15% coupon for friends and family.

Just went into my local TSC they had 2 tons nut just delivered wrapped unopened went and saw manager who said he needed to get rid of it I said I'll take both skids make me a deal... he said 3.00 a bag or 150 a ton needless to say both are paid for and will be picked up shortly...He was happy they were gone and I got a good deal...

Wow thats cheap heat!

I went to my local TSC who had said they werent going to get coal anymore but they had 40 bags on hand and I bought those with the 15% discount. Now will it be fines or chunks

I had pretty good luck with it this winter, fines and all. Smells more though and Im thinking its oiled is why but not sure.

I think it was definitely right place right time they were not going to sell it and sitting on it all summer and then it gets damaged etc etc etc...

I have used at least 8 ton of TSC over the last 2 years.. I had some Blaschak left and have been using it for a few weeks now... There are a huge amount of fines in it.. It confimed the fact when I switched to TSC back when I had so much less fines... so Blaschak isn't as good as people think..

Hate to disagree, BUT, I gotta disagree unless you're getting bagged--then I can't speak. Been using BLASCHAK bulk for 10 seasons, same supplier. Never a problem. I've said it before--it's a crap shoot no matter the brand. I like to refer to it as God stuff.

I think this statement is backwards. As Fred says, when I burned Santa coal it was the cleanest and most consistent of all the coals I've ever burned. (Pea and stove). And the TSC (Reading) "nut" coal is by far the most inconsistent, (size wise) and buckets of fines.

Capt is burning rice I think, not nut like most of us. Thats likely the difference.

Used Blaschak for 5 yrs ... Reading for four ... Reading's nut is larger in particle size distribution ( I think allowing for a wider range of heat output ).

Either one works for me. Comes down to cost and supplier (got some really wet stuff from one supplier 2x in a row ~ had to let 7 tons sit for a season covered before it was close to being serviceable ~ I made it clear to the supplier that I expect clean dry and serviceable fuel and if gotten again I would reject the load)
