Have any of you burned coal from McClymonds trucking in Portersville? I called to check pricing and asked the gentleman what brand the coal was. He replied, coal does not have a brand. It is all the same. And it comes from out east. So I am curious if anyone knows where they get their coal.

McClymonds Trucking used to be a HEET Inc. Reading Coal dealer/outlet but it is not w/ Reading any longer, since the last year or so.theo wrote:I have, not the best
Being a trucking company gives them many options as to where they may find their coal supplies. This has cut out the middle man.
We here need to find out whom their current source/supplier is.

For some it doesn't matter, but for most here on this forum, they would want to know.

I just had 4.61 tons on Blackshak anthracite delivered from James Gilliland Hauling in New Wilmington, PA. The cost was $238 a ton delivered. It was 100 mile round trip for him to my location. He also has it in bags.
I just bought some from him last week, how do you know what mine it came from? I asked him and he really couldn't tell me for sure which mine it came from. How do you like the coal, did you get rice or other? I"am getting a lot more unburnt coal then what I had burning kimmels, so I do know this is not kimmels coal he has.

When asked he will tell you that all the coal is from the same single supplier/source and doesn't change.theo wrote:I just bought some from him last week, how do you know what mine it came from? Remember he does NOT buy or own any of this coal, it is owned and bought buy Kurtz Coal (Amish) whom has a long standing business relationship with Blaschak.
HTH
BTW: Was reported that McClymonds Trucking in Portersville has gotten some Lehigh coal loads this season.
BTW: Kimmels has more than one mine as does most of the big coal players...so coal characteristics do vary if little or no effort to blend for consistency.

To go a step further most mining companies don't mine all their own coal, they don't have the constant supplies to do this, Lehigh is one of the only if not the only one who mines 100% of our own coal
