I am need of some bit coal that does not bridge together. I can get bit by the ton for $27 but it is not worth the hassle of the bridging, uncontrollability, back puffing, etc.

I do burn anthracite, too but I`d like to burn bit as well when it gets really cold as it seems to put out more radiant heat and keep my basement warmer. I am in WV - near Bridgeport, Clarksburg, Salem...

How far would you travel?

How much would you pay?

Assume you're referring to your coal "fusing" at too low of fire temp and forming a bridging crust the doesn't collapse on its own.

Well, if the coal is good and does not do what you described as the issues I am having with the local coal, I may travel a couple hours. What are you thinking?

I just got back from a 9 hour round trip from DiRenzo coal in PA. Awesome place and better people.
