Are there sources of Anthracite in bags or bulk in NE Iowa?

If you have time call the Anthracite Coal mines in PA or Colorado
to see if they have a reseller in Iowa.

I ont have a current list of the anthacite mines in Colorado otherwise
I would post it here on the forum for everyone to have.

The national mining association would have a list of anthracite mines
in Colorado too.

Its there. Check with your local Amish community, and TSC stores are carrying it now, but who knows for how long as this is the first year for them to carry it. You can also call Blaschak coal in PA and they may tell you of others near you, as they are the main ones supplying the Amish here.

This is a very old thread, from 2015, and I don't think John is active here any more. I would suggest contacting someone in an Amish community if you know anyone like that. That's where John was getting his coal at the time. They go together and buy it by the truckload. I buy mine in bags from TSC here in Northeast Nebraska. At that time, TSC wasn't handling it yet. It's not as good as the stuff I bought from John, but it works.

Thanks for replying, I did find where John lives and know the Amish near there. I have Amish the same distance south... Both an hour away...I think I'll have to drive there though to communicate.

Yeah, they won't answer the phone if they're out working.

If you see John, tell him Hi for me. Ask him if he perfected his molds for the firebricks in his Locke 120.

If you travel to central WI for any reason, there are 3 locations to buy coal. Central Wisconsin Coal Sales (bulk/bag) at Neshkoro. Bud’s Soil and Grading at Fond du Lac. Bags of Kimmel and Reading. Andy Hochstetler W2053 Kiel Rd
New Holstein WI. Bags Blaschak. Andy has to tell Blaschak in May, what he wants delivered in September. (920) 894-1447.
