So I did the math, and the 1 tonne pallet of Anthracite Ovoids, the cheep stuff at 376 GBP. Using 1 Tonne=1.10231 Short ton and 1GBP=1.52$, It comes out at merely $518.47 at ton. I don't know if there is vat or other sales taxes not included...but hey delivery in the mainland UK is free!

I was in Brighton, southwest side of England about 3 years ago. Many pubs where burning coal in baskets in fireplaces, looked like stove anthracite coal to me. It seemed I was the only one in the pub interested so I did not ask any questions

I am sur our federal government will get the prices adjusted here so we can't afford coal anymore. They want us all to depend on the system. I only can choose from oil, coal or wood, so I am screwed all the way around.

I'm willing to speculate that what the UK calls Anthracite is actually coke. My UK neighbor told me that when he lived there everyone burned coke.
???????????????????????
???????????????????????
Pet coke compressed or pelletized and auger fed is common in the UK because it's cheap. However, they do have anthracite available. They used to mine it in parts of scotland and wales, now it's probably imported from germany/france or, more likely, eastern europe/russia.

We might be able to use "Buffalo Chips" or Cow Pies if the almighty epa approves them
