Has anyone had trouble with the Dalmation stove coal lately?

This is the 3rd or 4th fifty pound bag that has a lot of iron in it
after the carbon burns off leaving huge stove coal lumps of red coal.

I have not broken any of them to see how much if any carbon is left if any.
The fire died out and the house was cold and I looked in the firebox and I
found the red stove coal lumps.

Can you some post pictures?

I think what you are dealing with is just common clinkering from red ash coal.

You can fish them out without the need to let the fire go out. Check the link above.. :)
