Call Al at Household Fuel in New Britan and set up a pickup, 203-224-2424. Its Jeddo deep mined, best I've had. You may want to bring a camera.
Jeddo is not deep mined coal it is stripping / Refuse coal look at the links below

I found something about a Jeddo deep mine on the internet after buying it, not sure how dated the info was though now that you mention it. I'm always a little sceptical. If it is stripped, they did a hell of a job. I have found no rocks or trash in 3 tons. Awfull good coal too.

A friend of mine has been delivering bagged coal around my area (Shamokin,Mt. Carmel, Pottsville) for 5.50 a bag and has been trying to get customers a little further away. If anyone is interested let me know. Most of his customers get between 2 and 15 bags every week off of him but he wouldn't mind some larger orders either.

Hi all. I am new to the site but I am not new to burning coal. I have heated my house for five years with coal. I am in Norwich, NY. With a few e-mails and assistance from this site, I have found that rice coal can be purchased, for $135 per ton and there is a $26.00 per ton delivery charge. That is now, while it is cold, and prices are high. I am planning for next heating season. I am looking for a few locals in the area that want to go in with me on a 20 -24 ton load.
I burn 4.5 - 5 ton per year. There are those in my area that burn pea and chestnut. They could use a break also. Lets get together and get our coal delivered at a good price. I just had 2.5 ton delivered and paid $256.00 per ton. It is crazy. Supply and Demand. Let us unite and use our demand and create our own reasonably priced supply. If you burn coal, and you reside in the area, e-mail me and lets get this thing started. :!:

I'm near Owego...close enough to you. I'm also trying to get a group together to buy 18+ tons and save some $$$. I have at least 4 people who heat with coal and would probably be interested in this. The issue is where to dump the coal. I was going to buy a tri-axle load and have it dumped in my driveway. I have a skid steer with a bucket so I could figure out what a bucket load weighs and then load up guy's pickups and let them take it home to handle it however they prefer.

Where are you getting prices from? Is this oiled, rice coal? I'm new at this, but want to save as much $$ as possible and wouldn't mind hoarding a large stockpile for the future.

I live in RI & would like to try some different coal suppliers in southern New England. If you've had good luck with a supplier please let me know. I would also like to get a group together & buy a truck load of bagged coal. Thanks.

Does anyone buy from Fairclough? They're a pretty big fuel dealer in North Jersey based in Paterson, but they have a filling station in Sussex County outside of Newton on Route 206. My fiancee's parents live nearby and I always remembered seeing the signs for gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and coal. They have a website, but no pricing. Just wondering-I'll probably end up doing my own hauling but I figured I'd ask.

Baggedcoal.com is a guy from Gauley Mining out of Virginia. He's just a broker and sells Kimmel's coal out of Wiconisco, PA. They did not have rice coal in bags when I was there and I've not been very happy with the quality or sizing of their nut coal so I can't imagine their rice is any better.

You may be able to contact them either directly or through Baggedcoal.com and request an order of bagged rice, but good luck. Kimmels isn't a mining company either. They just get their coal from local mines in truck-loads and load it into their bagging hopper dispenser.

Looking for bagged nut-sized coal on Long Island, NY. Preferrably in the Glen Cove / Nassau County area.

I just need one bag to try out a small Godin stove.

ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
You can try Hudson Anthracite, they are only a few minutes of 81 near the Pittston exit. Matter of fact I believe that's the exit you are probably getting off anyway to get on turnpike?

Anyhow if you're traveling South on 81 get off exit 175A, there is a 175B before it. The exit ramp merges right onto 315, you don't have a choice here. Go straight about 1/2 mile on 315 to light and make a right onto Oak St. Follow that for about 2 miles to light at the bottom of the hill. This is a T and Oak St. does not continue here, you can only go right or left. You want to make a left at this light.

You're now on the Pittston Bypass, go straight for about 1 mile to where the road ends and you have to make a right at the stop sign. Go about 200 feet to next stop and make a left. Go about 400-500 feet and make a left right after the beverage company. The breaker is about 1/4 mile back on this dirt road. They'll sell you whatever you want. Open 7-4 M-F and 7-12 Saturdays during the winter. 570-655-4151
