NEWS FLASH: Tractor Supply stores are going to start selling bagged coal. I am not certain if they will be selling it in all stores in all states but I have confirmed that they will soon start selling it in some.. or all... Michigan locations anyway. Not sure of the pricing but I imagine it'll be higher than what one can find elsewhere but talk about convenience....

Just thought ya'll would like to know...

Right... I didn't get it from the website, I got it from speaking to someone at Corporate in Nashville. It's in the works... but no date specific when it will show up. I can't imagine it will be much longer since they are right now pushing their pellet pallets.

Mine too ... but I'm going to take a stab and guess that they're probably going to be priced higher than the rest .... at least out here.

Last year I purchased 5 bags of Kimmel nut coal from our tractor supply here in Plattsburgh, they had stocked one pallet of coal to see how it would sell, it was the same brand and same price,as our hulbert brothers store carries, and probably came in on the same tractor trailer lol but they haven't stocked anymore and I called several weeks ago to check in and they said they didn't have any idea if they would stock it this winter, just to call back every week to see

Stopped in at the Southwick, MA store yesterday and asked the manager about what they planned on stocking. He said they were just doing nut for $5 bag, then I asked if they have rice at other locations. He said yes and it was kimmels for $239/ton and he could order in a skid of it for me (exactly 1 ton to a skid according to him). I've only ever burned the bagged santa stuff, and am at just over 5 ton left from my 2011 TT load, so I definitely want to get one more in case we really have another winter. Not sure how the Kimmels will burn, but I'll just use it in the shoulder season when I don't need the full BTU output. $239 is great pricing, the bagged santa stuff is $300-$310 from other distributors.

Yeah Wow! That is a great price for your location! I wonder if the Tractor Supply in my town has it. Seems like they should since they sell the coal burning units too. I'm gonna call.. :)

OMG... My Tractor Supply store has bagged Nut and Pea coal.
40 pound bags. $4.99
$256.98 per ton (includes 3% tax) at that price per bag.
Dammit, I shoulda asked if there is a better rate per ton, I bet there is!

That's AWESOME..
My bulk delivery guy is only $235/ton but knowing Tactor Supply has some, is good backup..

I just called the TSC's in Wadsworth and Medina, Ohio and they both said they have no intention of selling anthracite (or any other) coal, and to their knowledge no TSC's in Ohio will be offering it.

They tried to sell me wood pellets.

Awww that sucks Larry... Sorry to hear that man. Maybe they will change their mind once people notice that other Tractor Supply stores are selling it and they start getting calls for it..

I guess TSC figures that the anthracite demand here in "Midwestern" Ohio is low by comparison to the N/E states.

How on earth did Ohio get lumped into the Midwest?
