i have been messing around with different brands of coal last year and i have easily come to the conclusion that Lehigh has the highest quality product.
this is between tractor supply, Kimmel, redding and blashack. longest burns/hottest burning per same air setting/least amount of fines/lowest stable burn temps and fastest recovery time. kimmel was very simular, unfortunately found some dirt and a couple rocks in a few bags of pea. tractor supply was the most fines and lower temp and less stable low burn. blashack was also very close but less consistant sizes mostly smaller. redding seemed to be more iron content, only coal ive had a clinker with.
i was wondering if you can tell me if the coal price will change after labor day or not?

It's worth reminding others that they arent open for customer pick up on saturdays in the summer apparently. My buddy and I drove over two hours each way with our dump trailers to buy about 9 tons, and were turned away.

That is correct we only have maintenance personnel on site during the summer. You can come in Monday through Friday in the summer months.

I thought the only resellers were allowed during the week normally? And consumers were only allowed saturdays ? Did something change or did I misunderstand for the last couple years ?

That changes 3 years ago. We allow anyone to come in for coal during the week.

I asked about you both times I was there, but they didn't know where you were or if you were even there those days.
Oh well, one of these times....

I took a day off from work yesterday to get my 6 tons of rice for the season. I went to my local source in Whiteford, MD The Mill. When I got to their bulk bins there was plenty of nut and stove but barely any rice. So I took what they had which was 3.5 tons. They had to scrape the bottom of the bin which is concrete to get it all. As I was unloading it I saw several rocks in it. I pulled them out but I think at least one made it into the bin. Now I'll worry all winter about that rock getting in the EFM auger and breaking a shear pin. If that happens I guess I'm screwed because there is no easy way to clear it. Now I wish I had just waited until they got a fresh load, which they said is coming next Thursday.
