I finally used up the 4 ton load of crap I bought 2years ago. Since I had not found another dealer of bulk coal in this area, I bought bagged Blaschak nut, mid-winter. 1.2 ton pallet, @ the rate of $316./ton. + $35.per pallet delivery =29.17 per ton delivery so my total for one ton = $345.17 per ton delivered.

The Blaschak nut is burning great. Lots of heat, not forming clinkers, burns up to a fine ash. Bags were stored outside at the dealer so there is some water in them due to small punctures in the bags from handling. No problem with that though. I put my scuttle of coal on top of my stove when I first bring it in to dry it out.

I still want bulk nut for next year to hopefully keep the price down and to avoid handling all those bags. A forum member did give me the name of a dealer about 50 miles away that carries bulk pea. I plan to call him, to see how much $ he gets and if he would consider carrying nut. I can burn pea, but prefer nut.

I don't think you'll get the heat out of PEA that you do with the NUT Grizz.
