Just got my 3rd Ton of the coal processed by Helfrick at the Mid Valley site. the first 2 tons were rice for the Harman and the stuff burns great lots of heat easy lighting and slow burning I had to back the feed down on the Harman. Just got a ton of Pea Delivered for the shop stove today we'll see how she burns. Love my new Delivery guy Luke Lapotsky on time and easy to reach with no bitching abouut the smaller 1 ton order.

I bought about a ton from the breaker that used to be called Split Vein Coal on Rt. 61 north of Shamokin. $150.00 per ton (my pickup) , real wet out of the breaker. Coal is a bit more "boney" than Harmony ...more ash but at $20.00 a ton, and about 20 miles closer I find it to be a good savings. Nice people too.

Loving the Helfrick Mid Valley plant coal
Just got done with a ton of Keystone Pea and Rice it was good,,, but the Helfrick Mid Valley plant coal burns Hotter and longer,, the real test was the pea in the shaker stove cause the Harman stoker burns anything.
I do have to say seems to be a bit higher in the ash dept but with this weather we be burning hard so its hard to say. I had to back the feed down on the Harman to give it a chance to fully burn otherwise it would burn off the grate and the shaker used to take two full shakedowns Morning and bedtime and a half shakedown mid day the new stuff seems to do fine twice a day.
