We lost power last night at 9:10 pm because of the severe storm. I shut the breaker off to the garage and went to bed. Didn't know what time the power would come back on. Didn't want the fire to go out and push coal into the pan. Got up this morning and went out at 6. Turned the breaker on and the fire was still going. It never happens for me like that :D

Hey Phil, the 700's have an easier time keeping going because they have a deeper and wider throat then the 520's. More fuel to burn. The 520 pot is shallow compared to most. The other day was the first time that it has gone that long for me.

That long burn is a very nice feature in the AA's, EFM's, GJ's, Van Werts.....deep firepot, only a small amount of air. Don't try that on your K-6 or K-8........however they are VERY easy to re-light.

I have used their coal in the past and had very good results. I just purchased 6 tons last week. kinda stinks that I missed the price cut, but the product is good and I was ready to stock up for next year.
They are very easy to deal with.

Just wanted to post an update. As I figured, this coal is the BOMB! I made it a couple days shy of two months on a ton of Direnzo's buck. Ash pan dumps were sometimes a couple weeks apart. The load was always my domestic hot water plus the unexpected heating from the cold spring we've been having. For me, really great mileage out of a ton. So with regrets, I filled the bin with big named bags. The bin holds 1200 lbs if I heap it up perfectly. Well, with pretty much just the same load as has been running the last two, three weeks, I've blown thru almost 1/3 - 1/2 the bin in 9 days. Took out considerable ash. I can't let this coal go too long because the pan overflows too quickly. Just can't believe there is that big of a difference between the two. I gotta get some more of that buck!
