Hello,
I was there about a month ago and he seemed to have plenty of coal. I think the price was about $100 ton picked up, more for delivery. He was getting his coal from a Patriot mine in Henderson, KY, but they had to close that mine early this year(2012), now his coal is coming from southern Indiana about 100 miles north. I purchased about 100 pounds of lump to try in an outdoor fireplace, and it burns very well with a nice flame, although it also seems to produce a good amount of reddish ash.

You probably would get more responses if you posted in the bituminous section of this site: Bituminous Coal Hand Fired: Coal Boilers and Hot Air Furnaces/Stoves
The first thread on that page is: Where do you get your Bituminous coal and a going price? : Where Do You Get Your Bituminous Coal and a Going Price?

Enjoy the wealth of knowledge here, I sure have.
