Coal Trip to NEPA

I know a place in NE pa where you can gt bagged coal for about $260 per ton, They advertise it a $7 per 50lb bag, but if you take an entire ton you can usually get it for about $260 per ton call them 570-668-3802

I'll be going next weekend, picking up my coal Monday morning!
Trying to figure out if I'm going to Jeddo or UAE. Any suggestion on what my LL boiler might like?

How much do you have on that trailer? I like the guillotine door, I should have cut on in my trailer. Wife and I are looking to head out to Hazleton in the morning.

I'm starting to think about this more and more ... but with $4/gallon fuel and yearly MA trailer fees over $200 a year it hardly seems worth the effort. On a run like that I'd be pedal to the medal - all business - no time to stop and smell the flowers, so I'd be stressed to the max.

I've got a class A license ... but it seems no way to rent a real truck. Those big outfits aren't big on lending out a 6-figure rig with 8 figure liability to the general public ....

Just kills me to pay for something I could do myself.

WTF happened to .69 cent a gallon oil????

Everyone wonders why I drink so much ........

Wow I didn't know the PR of Mass was that bad!! $200 for a trailer!?!! I don't pay that for my truck, and I thought RI was bad. Now I know why all my neighbors ( I'm the only house on the street in RI) have Maine plates on their trailers. I'd do the Maine thing, but RI is only $5 for trailers, just have to worry how bad I'll get screwed by the town when my excise bill gets here. I'm not even sure it will be taxed as its worth less than $6000. After figuring for a hotel for 2 days (nice child free weekend with the wife) fuel and food I'm still saving $700 and getting a mini vacation out of the deal.

Yep - $20 per 1,000 lbs. of trailer GVWR . Plus title ($75) for trailers over 3k (or thereabouts), and of course, yearly excise tax on all registered vehicles & trailers based on value - $25 per $1,000 of "determined" value.

Our lovely state government instituted all these new fees, plus raised the state sales tax from 5% to 6.25% all during "the worst recession since the Great Depression".

That's how democrats roll -- when the people are down, kick 'em in the face, mace 'em, stab 'em in the back ... then shoot 'em.

Then register them to vote .......

I registered my Dad's boat trailer in Maine...I think it was $100 for 5 years.

All mine are reg'd there as well. All for 7 years for TWO TRAILERS for the same price MA wanted for ONE trailer for ONE year!

The No. 9 Mine and Museum is in Lansford, not too far from Hazleton.

Sorry didn't realize you asked a question... I had 5 tons there, I also learned while the brakes would slide the wheels empty they didn't work at all loaded....

That was a bad ride home.
I pay someone to bring it to me know...
