Connecticut Coal ???

Another stop in central CT is the place I use in Middletown. It's close to 91 and he has some great prices on coal and pellets. Been going there for a couple years now and he's a great guy to deal with.

Thats a good price. I get my supply from Burn time Enterprises at 500 Broad Street in Bristol, but he is up to $354 a pallet and thats check or cash. I think if you charge its $365.
Its only about seven minutes from my house so its easy for me. Its gone up $18 a pallet since I bought mine in September.

If you can get enough for two years and buy at the end of the season, you can save you're self 75-100$ for year 2 delivery and 80$/ton.

I used to get mine from Household coal in new britain. The owner told me that he's going out of business. Like a moron I waited way too long to buy coal this year and ended up paying $280/ton loose nut coal. After he told me he was going under(because his elevator is shot), I looked for another supplier. BT pellet has a warehouse in suffield, ct which is 10 minutes away. I paid 295/ton bagged and went with pea this time hopeing for a longer burn time.....
I will stock up in the spring time for next year and hopefully get a deal...
Anyone know the price history with BT? Do the prices drop in the spring?

That's a shame, the place has been peddling coal since 1918 IIRC. That elevator has been killing him the last few years, most of the drag bars are missing and it just keeps breaking. How he could get 250 tons into each silo with it amazed me. I think it has been out of service for the last couple of years.

Yea. BT pellet is right down the street so even if I paid $20 more per ton its hard to beat that. No long distance driving.

I bought coal from Household for years until B T opened up. Its a shame but plastic bags are a lot cleaner for me now and the fact that they are so close to me it doesn't make sense to go to New Britain.
I don't have a truck anymore so my son-in-law gets it for me a pallet at a time. It takes him and my two grandson only ten minutes for them to unload and stack a pallet for me.
After my last back surgery I don't want to push it. Twenty Pounds at a time is about my limit.

Hello everyone...I would be interested in a bulk purchase..I am in RI about 10 min from the CT line...I don't know if thats a deal breaker or not...but perhaps someone could summarize this topic with an update as to if/when/how a bulk purchase will happen?

Call Hocon Gas in Guilford and ask for Bill, they are right on RT1. He has a pallet of nut (2400#), he got stuck with it and will let it go for $300.
