Hello Fellow Granite Staters,

I am having a new Coal Stoker stove installed soon, and was wondering where everyone is buying their coal? Are there any consortiums set up yet? I received an email from Mike Stower Coal in PA , "We can haul anything from 5 ton to 22 ton."
I really don't want 5 tons for myself but if we could band together it might make it worth while. I will report on price when he responds. What is everyone currently paying per bag? 40 LB,__________50 LB______________, TON__________________

How much are you looking for? 2,3,4,5 tons?.....and where are you looking for it to be delivered/picked up from. No Co-op, but many are thinking about it.  It's a small state, but Pittsburg is a long way from Portsmouth.
There are many retail operations who are fairly priced right now; there is not much profit for the aggravation involved. If bagged is 300 at ton or less, that is very fair. Fuel prices will change that price very soon, also.

Sorry Fred, but I don't know what the "avatars for location" means. I'm fairly new here and still learning. Thanks.

Don't know where you live, but if you live near Rochester/Dover area, nobody
can beat Henry at McManus Fuels on prices, or service,
for Blaschak or Kimmel coal.....
If you want like 3 tons, he may even deilver a little further...

the profit margin on anthracite is not good for the b/s you have to go tru so if you get it for 300 per tonne or less is decent if everyone gets it shipped direct or tru a co op then there is not much sense in some one carring coal as a side line bus this is in the NE area thanks jim
