You can get bulk coal from Phelps and Sons in Tolland. You can also get bagged. They deliver to me in Enfield. I got 2 tons @ $280/ton in May 2012.
Mitchell Fuel in South Windsor has bagged coal. Last time I bought a few bags from them it was Blachak (sp) coal and $7 or $8 a bag.
I just found out today that Brown's Harvest on Shaker Road in E. Longmeadow sells bagged coal at $8.75/bag. That's all the info I have.

That is a real good price. Too bad they prolly won't drive out to eastern CT....although B&T in Bristol did, and they go all the way to Putnam. Maybe I ll call your guy see if we can get a little competition going.getme2tons wrote:Well, $280 times 2 or $560. No extra delivery charge.

I think BTE (located in Suffield in an industrial area near the airport) will deliver out there by truck. You'd have to call their Bristol store to find out. Don't try looking for a Suffield phone nr because Suffield is only open Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 9-1 or something like that.

My guy is about $6.40 a bag, Blashack. I don't consider it cheap but he's 10 minutes away.

Utility has a price all its own. The local yokels are a good 20-30 bucks more a ton than a multi-ton order from Uxbridge, buuuuuut I can run down and get half a ton when I want...coaledsweat wrote: ↑Wed. BTE in Suffield in a warehouse just off Rt75 has it for $6.50 a bag. That's where I go because I'm in Enfield. Mitchell Fuel carries Blaschak but was over $7 a bag last time I was there (a few years ago before I found BTE). If you are going to Hebron, check Jason Blakesley in Middletown. BTE told me he has nut coal and also delivers to Eastern CT. Call them for pricing.
BTE is also in Bristol. I don't know if they ship out of Bristol or only the Suffield warehouse but you could call and ask about pricing. Does Phelps & Sons in Vernon still sell coal? I had it delivered every fall until they stopped delivering.
