This is a continuation of the same thread from the 2006-07 season. Figured it's a new season or the season is over depending on how you look at it so we'll start a new one.

The old one from 2006-07 can be found here:

:-k Better extend the price categories so you get the whole bell curve in there!

My "summer delivery" price ($5/ton less) for rice delivered to my bin, just 5 miles from my supplier, will be $208.70/ton. Last year, it was $193.

I'm on the Hudson River, between West Point to my south and Newburgh to the north.

I've been using coal (chesnut) in my hand fired stove in my garage (separate structure). This past year, in frustration, I purchased a Reading Stoker, burning rice coal... wow, I've been living in the stone ages with the hand fired. Anyway, prices I've paid in the Scranton area range from $130/T - $190/T. I purchased coal at $190/T at the end of the season, was clean and burned well, but question whether the $60 difference is worth it. Anyway, I know the admin is in the delivery business. Do you deliver to Dickson City?

I still burn chesnut in my garage and rice in the house. I would also like a quote for pick up of chesnut.

Thanks

The poll options are pretty limited, hopefully there will be a modification for the new Phphbb forum that will allow multiple answers such as if its bagged, delivered etc.

When I get the calculator done there will be a form that you will be able to fill in with many more options. Price, bagged, delivered, where you live, is your house insualted? I'm going to try and make it as comprehensive as possible.

With that I'll be able to display the information however I want or even give the person viewing it the abilty to display it how they want, this is just for the interm for basic averages.

At the moment no sorry I do not. I've been very busy with other things and haven't accepted new customers for quite a while now.

I just got a 2007-2008 season price sheet from my local coal supplier, a 45 minute one way trip for me. Pick up, per ton prices with the usual caution that it will increase if his wholesale costs go up. It's more than last year's prices but not by much, e.g. $175 is now $186. I don't have a clue why red ash barley is the cheapest.

WHITE ASH (Stove, Nut, Pea, Buck, Rice)

$170 April 15 -> June
$174 July
$178 August
$182 September
$186 October -> March

RED ASH (Stove, Nut, Pea, Rice)

$175 April 15 -> June
$180 July
$185 August
$190 September
$195 October -> March

RED ASH (Barley only)

$157 April 15 -> June
$162 July
$167 August
$172 September
$177 October -> March

A) Barley is not a big seller, mostly commercial. I have a handful of cutomers that use it. Most stokers will burn it but it can become an issue if you burn in the summer.

B) You can always make smaller sizes with larger sizes, pea for example is not a big seller either. They could always grind it up to make buck and rice. Haven't seen them do that recently, apparently they found a customer for it.

Keene, New Hampshire (southwest NH) price for 2 tons or more is $266/ton.

I use 5200 lbs per year and delivery to my house outside of Keene is another $53.
Total price is (5200/2000)*266+53= $744.60
So my price per ton is $744.60/2.6= $286.37 per ton! :shockingzap:

Just called my supplier $265 a ton for rice. Up $5 from last year. Still beats oil and the wife is not complaining about the "Heat Nazi"
