I have only seen bags of Anthracite Rice Coal. Would someone explain White Ash, and Red Ash.
Does this only apply to bulk delivery? What is the price difference between one ton of bulk and a pallet of 50, 40# bags?

Nut was $238 a ton bulk picked up here early in the winter but jumped $40 bucks to $278. Still half the price of heating with oil.

Anyone have any prices on coal here in Mass? I found it bag for 280 and 285 per ton and one place that has it bulk for 235 a ton picked up. Both are Reading coal.

Hi everyone!

I'm new to this forum, but I'm looking at getting a Harman VF3000 next year and I'm wondering about coal delivery in Central PA. I live about 4 miles west of Selinsgrove, PA in the villiage of Kreamer, and I was wondering if you guys think there are any coal companies in Shamokin area that would deliver rice coal to my place? It's probably about 20 to 25 miles to Shamokin for me. Secondly, with the VF3000, can you burn any other sizes of coal in it other then rice?

Thanks for all your help.

Dave , You pay tax on your coal? I am positive that I do not . My little coal card from my coal place says " pick up coal in Genesee Co and pay no solid fuel tax. Is your County different?

Cayauga Co. has a tax on home heating fuels liquid or solid.
Oswego and Onondaga do not.

Maine does not tax coal, thank God. I guess they just have not realized they can make more money, since they tax e verything else we buy.
