Have any of you ever done business with Coffee Corner Coal ? Their advertising in the local "Good News" always states that their "current prices are good for the foreseeable future" along with "consistent quality coal". I've never had any dealings with them. Other than Bosler's and Horner Trucking they seem to be steady in our area. There have been a few other folks, but I don't know if they're still with us..........Hambden Bob......

I've heard of Coffee Corner Coal but have not done business with them.
Other suppliers in our area are:
Ed & Son in Orwell and Mespo 440-862-7524. I know they offer Jeddo bulk and sell to many of the Amish.
Byler Seed in Middlefield 440-548-5580. They carry Blaschak bagged only. They have the lowest bagged coal price in our area and it's where I get my coal. Last I heard they were at $285/skid (2400#)

Len,Thanx....

Seems the more I learn from you guys, the more homework I get to do. I'm hoping that the many Ohio Lurkers that drop by are finding the same thoughts............Hambden Bob.........

Ohio Lurker - An amazing Animal of the Digital Family known as the NEPA Crossroads Board. Usually found by keyboards and/or mice in a warm area. Coffee is usually close by. May be registered or not. May be signed in or not. Usually a wise and wiley animal. Goes about the process daily/weekly/monthly of hunting/gathering valuable info regarding coal use and sourcing(Bit or Anth). Uses said coal and knowledge for the common good of heating their domecile and domestic hot water. Occasionally breaks rythmn and registers, signs' in and, when ready, posts, just to say "Hi"

I sampled Thompson Bros.Anth. Rice...White Ash, very hot, lots of blue flames...but burned fast too.

I drove a little further North and crossed over into PA...NO Sales Tax on Coal purchased in PA...

Kurtz Coal, they may be Amish, no phone. Their coal sales is located in New Wilmington, PA 16142 @ James W. Gilliland Hauling, on Auction Road they have a phone...724-946-3145.

I just got 2400# (1.2 Tons) of Blaschak Bagged Rice from them for $300.00 out the gate.

NO BULK RICE, but have both bulk and bagged Pea, and Nut...bagged is Blaschak...bulk, I didn't ask.

Pea, and Nut Bulk price is $203.00/ton @ yard.

They even have Pittsburgh Soft Coal too...$118/ton @ yard.

Now this is what I call "Networking". We're not lucky enough to live in the heart of NEPA,but we make due with suppliers and connections that keep the Coal burning in Ohio!

I have seen here at this Forum talk of another Amish Coal Dealer in the Linesville, PA area.

They say he sells bagged (by him) coal for same price as bulk. No phone though.

Read more here:

NW Pa, Ne, Ohio or SW New York

The Amish guy in Linesvile Pa. is on Thigh road. His bulk nut is 220 a ton, just was there the other day for a ton. I think he has pea in bulk now too. Great guy to deal with, but not real easy to find.

When I was last to the Linesville one he just carried the bulk nut & rice that he bags for you, he also has pre-bagged Blaschak, not too far off of Rt6.

The amish man in Linesville Pa. is Jr. Delagrange. He is the owner of Delagrange Stove @ Coal located @ 17584 Tighe Rd. Linesville Pa. 16424. He sells all Blaschak coal. Prebagged Blaschak price $315 a skid (sixty 40lb bags). He carries stove, nut, pea, and rice. He also carries bulk coal that he bags in feed bags for you. Price is $235 a ton 50 forty lb bags. He carries nut and rice in this bulk coal. One nice benefit of buying coal here is that you can take the coal as needed. He also sells Hitzer Stoves and Furnaces at a reasonable price. He is one of the nice people on our crazy planet!!!!

Anyone have a dealer they have used in the Columbus Ohio area? I am in Sunbury Oh which about 15 minutes northeast of the Columbus Loop.
There are a couple places around that I have seen that are at 400 to $420 bucks for a 60 bag pallet. There has to be someone around here that is cheaper than that
