Jealous of all you NEPA fellas!

I paid $283.58/ton delivered for 4.8 tons DELIVERED-- this ended up being cheaper than my usual supplier that I would have made 2 severely OVERLOADED  trips to pick up, then load into basement. I think I scored this year (As far as MA goes :D)!! :woot:  :smoke:

But, still $15.98 more per ton than last 4 years..... Add this on top of a 25% tax increase, etc.etc.etc,,,, not a good year here....

Just ordered 4 tons of rice for 185 a ton delivered. With the price of diesel less than half of what it was last year I was hoping the price would've stayed the same as last year. Oh well, it's still a lot less than oil and our house is more comfortable than ever.

Oh, someone voted 130-139 per ton delivered. Where are you getting it from? Maybe I just need to shop around more.

Hi all newbie here just found an add on craigslist (Elimra-Corning) for bulk coal near Watkins Glen NY they are getting $180@ton at their yard.

They stated the coal was from Shamokin. I am sure deep mine coal but I don't know which mine.

They charged you tax? I don't think they are supposed to do that. Last year I bought several times from Ashaway in Dartmouth (bagged coal) and 1 time they charged me sales tax. I went back and they refunded it to me saying the guy made a mistake. I know the tax rate has gone up but I didn't think they changed the items that are taxable????

No.. I used to, but it took up too much of my time...so I get it elsewhere..but I don't focus on the bag coal as much.. 99% of my customers are truck delivered dumped in there coal bins or on the ground..

Priced some rice coal in the capital district area of NY. Can get Kimmel in 50 lb bags for $269 a ton plus $40 delivery for 1.25 tons. They knock off $5 per 1.25 ton on the second skid delivered. Can get Blaschack for $266 a ton plus $65 delivery charge for 4 1.25 ton skids. This supplier will knock off 20% on the delivery if he is already delivering in the area for that day.

In central NY another couple of dealers I did not see listed are Early's on route 20 outside of Madison and another one in New Woodstock, NY near route 80. My brother in-law has gotten good prices from both in the past for bulk coal. He did a pick up of 11 tons this past weekend from Early's for 240 a ton.

No, no ... I was just venting about how EVERYTHING is going up around here. But this is Massachusetts -- don't be surprised if it happens!! :o They can't control their spending, so you & I have to pay.

They'll use some BS environmental argument for justification. I can just feel it coming...........
