I'll jump in on that question - I spoke with BillNJ this morning and he is checking on whether they have rice. I'm having him pick up a ton for me if they do. It's not that much more than the pick-up price in Easton, PA and is certainly easier if I don't need to shovel it. I don't think he checks into the forum that often.

I live 25 miles south of Rochester, N.Y. and was wondering where people in this area are getting their coal.
There is a dealer that is very close but he hasn't done me any favors and am looking at other options...

I live 25 miles north west of Rochester. Got my coal from:

Higbie Farm Supls Inc
3440 Union St
North Chili, NY 14514

Not sure of their delivery area, but give them a try.

Hello. I live about 20 miles north east of Pittsburgh Pa and need supplier of bagged rice coal. Not afraid to travel 50 or so miles to get ( my supplier has health problems and cannot supply me ) Also has any body that uses Blaschak coal tell me if its supposed to be soaking wet when it comes out of the bag? I tried a skid and it was so wet that I had to dry it on the floor befor I could use it ? is that normal and how could you use it in a Harman stoker? I have used Centralia and Donsen coal and it will dry in the sack before you use it. Thanks

Ask for Mario.

Take I-87 south to exit 14 and turn left towards Saratoga Lake.

I was there today to buy a ton of rice coal and Mario informed me that he had pea and nut coal as well.

Hi All,

I'm looking for bagged rice coal in the capital district region of New York State. I live in southwestern Schenectady county and have been buying from Vally View Farms in Berne and TS in Cobelskill. They have similar delivery costs and price per ton. I am looking for a better price (less than $290/ton) with about the same or less delievery cost $25-$30 per ton. If there are any bulk dealers around I will consider getting a coal bin if the savings justify it.

Any help you might provde would be greatly appreaciated.

Will

I checked at The Furniture Store. Their prices seem high. They quoted 325 per ton with a $75 delivery fee. If this is a per pallet cost it is outrageous. If it is for an entire delivery of several pallets it would be reasonable.

Any other dealers in the area? I must admit being a former Berks county PA resident I was spoiled. There coal is much cheaper and I never had to pay a delivery fee as long as I bought in bulk.

If you buy bagged you can save some money getting a whole tractor trailer load (18 palletts). Theres a company out of PA that will arrange shipping, you just have to have a way to offload. I get bulk which is about the same price as bagged if I get the whole trailer load so it doesn't work for me. (I use a wheel barrow down a chute to load so I don't need bags).

I did not find a website for Superior or UAE. Can you give contact information for each? Is it sold in bags?
